Set in the “Last of the Summer Wine” country, the annual Holmfirth Folk Festival attracts thousands of visitors. Being a place of colorful characters with their faces painted, playing instruments and dancing it uplifts everyone even on the dullest of days.

This years event had plenty of mixed weather including Rain, Hail and Sunshine. This didn’t deter the visitors who flocked on the town, including members of Penistone Camera Club.

Club members attended on a Saturday with some going on Sunday. Regarding the weather Sunday was the better of the two days, being sunny and warm.

On Saturday the day started out dismally with the weather throwing everything it had got. This resulted in numerous coffee stops giving a chance for members to natter over a cuppa and slice of cake, comparing images and discussing the best vantage points for the different events around the town. Also the Saturday Craft market was taking place, tempting some members to indulge in the home made cakes on offer.

There were photographic opportunities galore, which club members relished. As always regular attendees like Pig Molly were there with their amazing painted faces and costumes, along with the sword dancers.
