Sally Sallett – “Never Underestimate an Old Woman with a Camera”

On Wednesday 21st April, Penistone Camera Club look forward to extending a warm welcome to  Sally Sallett (ARPS and Others)who  will explain why the photographic community should “never underestimate an old woman with a camera”. Sally has been known to describe herself as being “a reluctant OAP” with a “ragbag” style of photography and she will explain why she reached those conclusions whilst sharing key images from her club photography journey.

Members are also reminded that if they have not already done so that they need to submit their 3 entries for POTY 2021/22 by Wednesday night and also to pay their subs by the end of the week if possible.

Please try and be in the Zoom Room (Details on the website in the Members area – hint it remains the same week to week) no later than 7.20pm to allow sally to start her talk promptly at 7.30pm.

POTY 2021/22 – Round 1

Don’t forget that we all need to have our 3 images uploaded via the webpage no later than the 21st. It’s important that we all enter 3 images as the comp will require all 9 entries over 3 rounds to be scored.

“Yorkshire Born & Bred : Farming Life” – An illustrated Zoom talk by Valerie Mather, ARPS

On Wednesday 14th April, members of Penistone Camera Club look forward to giving a warm, virtual Zoom welcome to  Valerie Mather who will be giving an illustrated talk on what inspired her to create the book “Yorkshire Born & Bred: Farming Life”. We will hear how reading an article in Country Life magazine which said that only 3% go UK farmers were under 35, ultimately started her on a project and journey which led to her being awarded an Associateship of The Royal Photographic Society.

Please arrive in the Zoom no later than 7:20 so we can try and have a prompt start at 7:30.

Resuming Meetings

Due to the pandemic in March this year. We amongst other clubs were closed down, however zoom came into our lives. This enabled us to carry on meeting virtually, and kept our morale up.

Now after the Summer break we are resuming meetings albeit via zoom. Our syllabus secretary has been working hard to provide a varied program of quality speakers from the photography world, along with members showcasing their work.

We shall be publishing the syllabus will be published shortly.

So why not try something different and join one of our zoom nights.

These commence Wednesday 16th September 7.30pm.

Due to the recent outbreak of Coronavirus and Government guidelines. The committee of Penistone Camera Club has taken the decision to protect its members and to suspend meetings for the next three weeks. This will be reviewed weekly and any continuation / changes of this policy will be notified.
